SPT committed to the environment and the objectives of COP26
From October 31st to November 12th COP26 is being held in Glasgow, Scotland.
At SPT we have reduced the use of lead in our components by 70%.

SPT’s commitment to the environment is real, as we are fully aware of the great impact that the mining and the oil and gas industries have on our nature. For this reason, we cannot miss the opportunity to highlight the importance of the COP26.
This event will be from October 31 to November 12 in Glasgow, Scotland.
This global meeting has a total of 197 signatories and its objectives are based on the Paris Agreement, adopted at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP21) in 2015.
Therefore, one of the main functions of this event is to curb the increase of the average world temperature below 2 degrees Celsius with respect to pre-industrial levels, and also to increase efforts to limit it to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
This is an attempt to curb the imminent climate change, where countries such as India, China or the United States play a decisive role as they are the largest emitters of C0₂ in the world.
At SPT we believe that it is important that we all act to stop climate change, as it is a global problem. We therefore try to respect the environment and be sustainable in our processes.
SPT fights against climate change
Our tools help to reduce costs, reduce volume of mined waste rock in the process of sublevel caving and minimize human losses.
By improving trajectory measurement technology, SPT has improved and contributed to the reduction of the amount of explosives used in blasting wells.
In this way, trajectory measurement has proven to be a highly effective procedure in reducing the amount of explosive material used in the mine. It also reduces the size of the fragmented rock, which saves on material, environmental and labor costs.
In the case of the oil and gas sector, our tools are environmentally friendly and greatly assist to avoid collisions between wells.
The error models we have designed in SPT provides accurate data that prevents environmental catastrophes from happening.
SPT provides suitable calibration systems in every country in which we operate in order to ensure that our tools operate as accurately as possible.
Following this line, our commitment to the environment has led us to reduce lead in our components, reducing this material by 70% by using elements that do not require this type of soldering.
In the same way, we use reusable packaging for all our tools and we work with companies committed to climate change, ensuring that they meet our envirnmental standards and requirements before working with them, carrying out annual audits of these factories.
