Eric Estrada, SPT’s Marketing Director, will be present together with Tsolmon Gonchig, CEO of Trigteq, an international Mongolian company providing geological and mining engineering consulting services.
As an innovation this year, SPT will present StructMaster™, its new development for oriented core logging. This cutting-edge technology enables real-time data acquisition, analysis and validation from any location, providing geologists with highly accurate structural information.
With this launch, SPT expands its portfolio of global mineral exploration tools.
SPT solutions generate reliable data that enable geologists and industry professionals to make more informed decisions, minimize drill hole deviations, and help avoid exploration cost overruns.

Mining in Mongolia
Mongolia’s mining industry plays a crucial role in the country’s economy, contributing 23.6% of GDP, 61% of industrial value added and 93.7% of total exports. The sector also dominates foreign direct investment, accounting for 83.9% in 2024.
The country is rich in natural resources, with 3% of the world’s coal reserves and significant deposits of copper, gold, silver and tungsten. Mining output will increase by 31.2% in early 2024, driven by large-scale operations such as Oyu Tolgoi, which is expected to become the world’s fourth largest copper mine by 2030, and Tavan Tolgoi, which has 6 billion tons of coal reserves.
Mongolia’s economy is expected to grow by 6.5% by 2025, driven by increased mining activity and growing domestic demand. The government plans to increase coal exports to China by 20% to 100 million tons, while improving rail infrastructure to increase export capacity. In addition, Mongolia is exploring green energy projects such as hydrogen production and gas transportation initiatives.
Mongolia’s mining sector will continue to expand thanks to ever-advancing technology and sustainability efforts, providing great opportunities for investment and innovation.
We invite you to visit our SPT booth at the Mongolia Mineral Exploration Roundup 2025 to learn more about our solutions and how you can improve your drilling and mineral exploration operations.
