Stockholm Precision Tools (SPT), the Swedish company that was instrumental in determining the true azimuth during the rescue of the 33 miners trapped in the Copiapó mine, is committed to expanding in Chile.
SPT has a presence with two offices in the country. One of them is located at avenida del Valle Norte N° 704, office 102, within the Ciudad Empresarial (Business City) in the Huechuraba district, in the Metropolitan Region. This office is positioned as a meeting point to establish commercial relations with the main actors of the Chilean mining industry.
The technical headquarters is strategically located at avenida Balmaceda N° 1785, office 217, in La Serena, Coquimbo region, to guarantee local technical support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to mining projects.
As part of its commitment to the Chilean mining industry, the company announced plans to invest one million euros over the next two years. These funds will be used to strengthen the company’s infrastructure and operations in Chile, with the goal of driving innovation and growth in the sector.
As part of its strategy, the company is focusing on offering a permanent local stock of directional survey tools equipped with the most advanced technology in the world. This initiative aims not only to meet the needs of the Chilean mining market, but also to promote the adoption of cutting-edge solutions in the industry.
SPT announces its alliance in the country with the Chilean company QSS Logging, represented by its CEO, César Sandoval. QSS Logging, with more than 12 years of experience in the mining industry, has worked with important clients such as BHP Pampa Norte, Barrick, AMSA Polo Sur and Codelco, using the latest technology in geophysical and measurement equipment. QSS Logging is recognized as the only geophysical company in Chile that has worked in Antarctica.
SPT is headquartered in Málaga, where favorable climatic conditions are conducive to attracting and hiring highly qualified personnel. The company has nearly three decades of experience in the design of solid-state gyroscopes for borehole surveying. Its GyroMaster™, a north-seeking gyroscope provides the fastest and most accurate path measurement in the mining industry.
