From September 9 to 11, the company will be in Lima with technologies designed to improve operational accuracy and maintain data continuity from the earliest stages of drilling through structural logging.
- SPT will conduct demonstrations of GyroMaster™, Polestar Aligner™, and StructMaster™.
- Visitors will learn how SmartCloud™ brings together information from different operations and facilitates its review, traceability, and integration with external platforms.
- The SPT Peru team will welcome industry professionals at booths A188 and A189.
Stockholm Precision Tools (SPT) will participate in EXPOMINA 2026, taking place September 9–11 in Lima, to share its approach to generating, managing, and integrating data throughout mineral exploration programs.
At booths A188 and A189, the SPT Peru team will meet with geologists, exploration managers, drilling engineers and supervisors, contractors, and other professionals interested in improving the accuracy of field operations and the quality of the information used in later project stages.
The demonstrations will focus on three essential processes: correctly establishing the drill hole’s initial direction, monitoring its trajectory during drilling, and digitizing structural logging of drill core. Attendees will also learn how information generated by these operations can be incorporated into a shared digital environment for review, validation, and use by different teams.

Visitors explore SPT solutions, with instruments and drill core on the demonstration table.
“In mineral exploration, a measurement becomes more valuable when it can be related to the rest of the project’s information. At EXPOMINA, we want to show how SPT solutions combine field accuracy, traceability, and integration capabilities to help teams work with more consistent data from the start of drilling.”

From Field Data Capture to Shared Information
A drilling campaign generates records for different purposes. Rig alignment defines the drill hole’s initial reference; downhole surveys show its actual trajectory; and structural logging documents the structures observed in the core and relates them to their spatial context.
Although each operation addresses a specific need, its results form part of the same body of knowledge. When information is managed in separate files, transferred manually, or lacks a verifiable history, reviewing the data, comparing results, and sharing them with other departments becomes more difficult.
SPT’s approach is designed to prevent this fragmentation. Its instruments generate information in the field, while SmartCloud™ provides an environment for organizing it, applying controls, and maintaining the history associated with each record.
In this way, data is not treated as a series of isolated results, but as components of a process that must preserve accuracy, context, and traceability throughout the campaign.

Polestar Aligner™: Establishing the Correct Initial Direction
The quality of a drill hole begins with a well-defined initial reference. A discrepancy between the planned direction and the actual rig alignment can affect the hole’s subsequent development and make it more difficult to compare against the planned design.
At EXPOMINA, SPT will present Polestar Aligner™, a solution designed to establish and verify the drill hole’s initial direction before drilling begins.
It allows teams to verify rig orientation more accurately and document a stage that affects subsequent trajectory control. This information is the first element in the data flow that accompanies the drill hole throughout drilling.
GyroMaster™: Monitoring the Actual Trajectory During Drilling
As a drill hole advances, its trajectory can be affected by geological conditions, the drilling method, and other operational factors. For this reason, knowing its actual position is essential for correctly relating drill intersections to the project model.
GyroMaster™ performs downhole surveys during drilling using north-seeking gyroscopic technology. Because it does not rely on a magnetic reference, it can be used in environments where steel, magnetic minerals, or other sources of interference limit the use of conventional instruments.
The results provide accurate drill hole inclination and azimuth data and can be incorporated into the project’s digital environment for review and monitoring.
StructMaster™: Digitizing Structural Logging of Drill Core

At EXPOMINA, visitors will be able to explore StructMaster™, SPT’s handheld, automated solution for digital structural logging of oriented core.
Recovered core provides direct information about the lithology and structures intersected by drilling. To correctly interpret features such as fractures, veins, or contacts, structural measurements must be recorded accurately and the supporting evidence associated with each data point must be preserved.
At EXPOMINA, visitors will be able to explore StructMaster™, SPT’s handheld, automated solution for digital structural logging of oriented core.
StructMaster™ calculates angles from high-resolution images, reduces manual intervention, and allows measurements to be reviewed and recalculated. This helps maintain traceability and enables structural information to be related to the drill hole trajectory and the campaign’s other records.
SmartCloud™: Control, Traceability, and Organized Access to Information
The SPT ecosystem extends beyond field data capture. SmartCloud™ provides the digital infrastructure needed to manage information generated across different operations.
The platform associates records with the relevant project and drill hole, provides visibility into their provenance, tracks changes, and supports quality assurance and quality control processes. It also facilitates user and permission management, helping each team access the information it needs within a controlled environment.
This organization reduces reliance on manual exchanges and supports more consistent data access for technical, operational, and management teams.
Interoperability with Industry Platforms
Mining companies and drilling contractors typically use different applications to plan drilling, manage databases, review trajectories, and develop geological models. The ability to exchange information between systems is therefore an essential part of SPT’s digital approach.
SmartCloud™ includes an Open API that allows authorized external platforms to access validated data through a secure connection. This exchange preserves user permissions, record traceability, and the QA/QC processes applied within the platform.
SPT’s open architecture is designed to facilitate collaboration with other technology companies and reduce barriers between field data capture and the applications used for subsequent analysis.
Complementary Technologies within a Single Strategy

An SPT representative presents equipment to visitors, with StructMaster™ and drill core on the demonstration table.
Polestar Aligner™, GyroMaster™, and StructMaster™ operate at different stages of the campaign, but they share a common objective: generating accurate information and keeping it available to the people and systems involved in the project.
Polestar Aligner™ establishes the initial reference. GyroMaster™ determines the drill hole’s actual trajectory. StructMaster™ digitizes structural logging of oriented core. SmartCloud™ organizes the data, maintains its history, and facilitates integration with other platforms.
This combination of instrumentation and digital data management makes it possible to approach exploration as a continuous process rather than a series of independent measurements.
Technical Demonstration Schedule
In addition to the tools on display, SPT Peru has scheduled several technical demonstrations at booths A188 and A189. A calibration table will be available at the event to support these sessions.
