With this in mind, Stockholm Precision Tools (SPT) will participate in Discoveries 2026, one of Mexico’s premier mineral exploration events, taking place from August 4 to 6 in Hermosillo, Sonora.
Throughout the event, the SPT Mexico team will be at Booth 190 to exchange ideas with industry professionals and discuss how digital technologies are helping improve the quality, traceability, and management of geological information generated during exploration projects.

Data Quality Begins Long Before the Geological Model
The information collected during drilling provides the foundation for geological interpretations and, ultimately, the planning of a mining project. Keeping that information organized, accessible, and readily available across teams is essential to maintaining its quality throughout the exploration workflow.
However, when data relies on manual records or remains scattered across multiple systems, inconsistencies can arise that make data review more difficult, increase dependence on manual processes, and complicate collaboration between the different professionals involved in a project.
Digital data capture and management help reduce this fragmentation, improve data continuity, and ensure traceability from drilling through geological interpretation and modeling.
This will be one of the key topics the SPT team will discuss with attendees throughout Discoveries 2026.

Solutions for More Efficient Geological Data Management
Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about some of the solutions SPT is developing to improve the capture, organization, and management of geological information throughout exploration projects.
Among them is SmartCore™, a new solution designed to digitalize core orientation and simplify the management of structural geological information generated during drilling, improving its organization, traceability, and accessibility.
SPT’s participation will also provide an opportunity to present Polestar Aligner™, a solution designed to align drilling rigs to true north before drilling begins. Its use helps establish the correct initial drilling direction while reducing potential deviations from the earliest stages of the project.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet with the SPT Mexico team to discuss core orientation, drill rig alignment, borehole surveying, and geological data management, while exchanging perspectives on the current challenges facing the mineral exploration industry.
The team will include Edgardo Santamaría, Francisco Reyna, Ignacio Cano, and Josué Navarro, who will be available throughout the event to answer questions and share their experience with visitors.
