- SPT will showcase StructMaster™, GyroMaster™ Evo with CoreRetriever™, and SmartCore™, solutions for borehole trajectory surveying, core orientation, and structural logging.
- SmartCloud™ brings this data together in one environment, making it easier to review, trace, and manage through QA/QC.
Stockholm Precision Tools (SPT) will participate in CEN-CAN Expo 2026, taking place September 9–10 at Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
The two-day event will bring together professionals from mining, energy, and resource development, with more than 300 exhibitors, presentations, and other activities relevant to the industry.
At Booth R5-07 in Arena 2, SPT will showcase solutions for different stages of mineral exploration, from borehole trajectory surveying and core orientation to structural logging and digital data management.

Connecting Data from the Field
During an exploration program, data is collected at different times and through different field activities. Teams need to understand how the borehole is progressing, orient recovered core, and record structures such as fractures, faults, and veins.
The work does not end once a measurement is taken. Teams also need to know where the data came from, be able to review it, and keep it connected to the rest of the project information.
At CEN-CAN Expo, SPT will show how its instruments work with SmartCloud™ to bring this data together and support review and QA/QC.

GyroMaster Evo and CoreRetriever: Tracking Borehole Trajectory While Drilling
As drilling progresses, measurements taken at different depths help teams understand the actual borehole path and identify changes in trajectory.
GyroMaster™ Evo with CoreRetriever™ allows gyroscopic survey measurements to be taken during core retrieval. This method, known as gyro while coring, uses a routine part of the drilling cycle to collect trajectory data without requiring a separate operation dedicated only to surveying.
The results can be sent to SmartCloud™ and reviewed alongside other project data.

SmartCore: Digital Core Orientation
SmartCore™ brings digital core orientation into the core retrieval process. The instrument is installed directly in the inner-tube head assembly and, once at surface, connects to the handheld device to download the data.
This process provides the reference needed to orient the core and keeps the information available for later review and geological work.
StructMaster™: Measuring Structures Directly from Core Images
Once the core has been oriented, StructMaster™ allows geologists to identify and measure geological structures from core images.
The system calculates alpha, beta, and gamma angles and links each measurement to the corresponding image. This allows geologists to return to the image, review a measurement, verify its source, and use the information in structural analysis.
The data can also be synchronized with SmartCloud™ and included with other exploration data.
SmartCloud: Bringing Data Together in One Environment
SmartCloud™ connects data generated by SPT solutions. The platform centralizes borehole trajectory, core orientation, and structural logging data while maintaining data history and supporting QA/QC processes.
This gives teams a way to access and review information collected in the field while keeping related measurements connected.
