- From October 6–8, members of the SPT team will be on site in Rabat alongside Locadrill for the third edition of IMC Morocco.
- Together, the teams will present SmartCloud™, StructMaster™, SmartCore™, and GyroMaster™ Evo, with a focus on data continuity, traceability, and interoperability throughout the exploration workflow.
Stockholm Precision Tools (SPT) will attend the third edition of Morocco International Mining Congress (IMC Morocco) in person, taking place October 6–8, 2026, in Rabat. Members of the SPT team will be on site alongside Locadrill, SPT’s partner and official representative in Morocco.
This year’s edition will bring together mining companies, industry professionals, institutions, and technology providers to discuss Africa’s role in the development of critical and strategic mineral value chains. The event is organized by the Federation of Mineral Industry of Morocco (FDIM) and AME Trade Ltd.
During the event, SPT and Locadrill will jointly present technologies designed to connect data generated at different stages of mineral exploration, from trajectory surveying and core orientation to structural logging and digital data management.

Connecting data across the exploration workflow
A mineral exploration program generates data at different stages and through different operations. Understanding the actual borehole trajectory, correctly orienting recovered core, and recording geological structures are separate processes, but the data becomes more useful when it remains connected and available for later review.
SPT’s technology strategy places data integrity, traceability, QA/QC, and interoperability at the center of this approach. Rather than treating each instrument as a stand-alone solution, the goal is to maintain continuity as data moves through the project.
In practice, this allows trajectory data, core orientation records, and structural logging data to remain connected and retain the context needed for downstream work.
SmartCloud™ and Open REST API: the digital core of the ecosystem
SmartCloud™ plays a central role in this approach. The platform brings together data generated by different SPT solutions in one environment, supporting access, traceability, and QA/QC processes.
The Open REST API extends these capabilities toward interoperability. It is designed to allow authorized external systems to access structured, validated data, helping connect SPT information with other platforms used by mining companies without relying solely on manual data transfers.
This means data management can begin as soon as each record is generated and continue through the different stages of review and analysis.

StructMaster™: context and traceability for structural logging
StructMaster™ digitizes structural logging from oriented core.
The solution allows geologists to identify and measure structures on core images, calculate alpha, beta, and gamma angles, and keep each measurement linked to its corresponding visual evidence. This supports later review while preserving the context required for geological interpretation.
Its connection with SmartCloud™ brings structural data into the same environment as other project information, maintaining continuity from data capture through review and subsequent use.
SmartCore™ and GyroMaster™ Evo: data from drilling operations
Data generation starts before structural logging. SmartCore™ integrates digital core orientation into the inner tube assembly and allows field data to be transferred into SPT’s digital environment. This keeps orientation data available for subsequent stages of geological work.
For trajectory surveying, GyroMaster™ Evo is designed to simplify the process through a single-body architecture and direct connection to the overshot. In configurations using CoreRetriever™, surveying can be incorporated into the core retrieval cycle rather than always being carried out as a separate operation.
Together, these solutions address different exploration requirements while keeping operational data connected for later review and analysis.

SPT and Locadrill together at IMC Morocco 2026
With both SPT and Locadrill on site, professionals in the region will be able to explore these technologies directly with the teams and discuss how they can be applied to mineral exploration and drilling projects.
Locadrill brings its local market knowledge and presence in Morocco, while SPT representatives will also be in Rabat to take part in technical and commercial discussions throughout the event.
