- SPT Canada will exhibit at Xplor 2026 in Montréal on November 4–5, at Booth #66.
- The team will discuss borehole surveying, core orientation, structural logging, and drill rig alignment.
- The focus will be on data quality and traceability across mineral exploration workflows.
Stockholm Precision Tools (SPT) will participate in Xplor 2026, organized by the Association de l’exploration minière du Québec (AEMQ), November 2–5 at Le Westin Montréal in Québec, Canada. SPT Canada will welcome visitors at Booth #66 on November 4–5, the two days dedicated to the trade exhibition and conference program. Tetiana Lozynska, Olena Skyba, and Juglar Borges will represent the company.

The event brings together geologists, exploration companies, drilling professionals, and technology providers. Its program includes technical workshops on November 2–3, followed by conferences, an exhibition, and a core shack on November 4–5. For SPT, these discussions provide a practical setting to examine how measurements collected at different stages of an exploration program can remain useful when teams review and interpret geological information.
Technology and Data Management for Mineral Exploration
SPT’s participation at Xplor 2026 will provide an opportunity to present technologies addressing different requirements in mineral exploration, from measurements taken during drilling to the collection and management of geological information.

Alongside its field instruments, SPT continues to develop digital solutions such as SPT SmartCloud™, which supports the centralized management of compatible project data, helping teams review information, maintain traceability, and carry out quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes.
Throughout the event, the Canadian team will be available to discuss operational requirements and the importance of maintaining reliable, accessible data across exploration workflows.
Technologies presented by SPT Canada
The SPT team will showcase four technologies covering key stages of mineral exploration, from the initial alignment of drilling equipment to the collection of geological information.
Polestar Aligner™: establishing the drilling reference
Polestar Aligner™ is designed for drill rig alignment using north-seeking gyroscopic technology.

Establishing the initial direction of a drill hole is an important step in preparing a drilling operation. Polestar Aligner™ provides a reference for aligning the rig with the planned drilling direction, supporting the setup process before drilling begins.
Its application is particularly relevant where a reliable directional reference is required and the alignment procedure must be adapted to the equipment and project conditions.
GyroMaster™ Evo: Borehole Trajectory Surveying
GyroMaster™ Evo is a north-seeking gyroscopic system for borehole trajectory surveying.
The instrument provides directional measurements referenced to true north, without relying on a magnetic compass. This makes its surveying method relevant in environments where magnetic interference could affect compass-based measurements.
GyroMaster™ Evo also offers a configuration designed to support surveying during core retrieval, depending on the drilling setup. The resulting measurements allow technical teams to review the actual borehole trajectory and compare it with the planned drilling path.
SmartCore™: Digital Core Orientation
SmartCore™ is a digital core orientation system designed to operate within the inner-tube head assembly.
The instrument records orientation information that can be retrieved once the core reaches the surface through its supported handheld workflow.
This information provides a reference for relating geological observations on recovered core to its original position, supporting the work of exploration and structural geology teams.
StructMaster™: Digital Structural Logging

StructMaster™ is a digital solution for structural logging of oriented drill core.
The system allows geologists to record structural measurements together with images of the core, preserving visual context alongside the information collected.
By combining measurements and supporting images in a digital record, StructMaster™ helps teams organize observations and review geological information throughout the logging process.
SmartCloud™ and the continuity of exploration data
The value of these measurements extends beyond the moment they are taken. Project teams need to identify the source of a record, compare information from different stages, and assess whether further review is required.
SPT SmartCloud™ provides a central environment for managing supported SPT data, including trajectory, orientation, and structural information. Its QA/QC and traceability functions support the review of records across the exploration workflow. The platform also offers a REST API through which authorized external systems can access data within the API’s documented scope; this does not mean every third-party application is automatically integrated.
At Xplor, SPT Canada can discuss how field instruments and data management fit together, and which capabilities may be relevant to an organization’s existing methods, software, and reporting requirements. Any proposed configuration or data exchange should be assessed against the systems and workflows involved.
Meet the SPT Canada team at Booth #66

Xplor offers an opportunity to compare field practices with people working on exploration programs in Québec and beyond. Visitors may want to discuss a difficult survey environment, core orientation procedures, how structural measurements are reviewed, or how project data is prepared for downstream geological work.
Tetiana Lozynska, Olena Skyba, and Juglar Borges will be available at Booth #66 on November 4 and 5 to discuss those requirements and the applications of SPT’s technology. Attendees can also consult the official Xplor 2026 program when planning their visit.
SPT looks forward to meeting mineral exploration professionals in Montréal and discussing the measurement and data-management needs of their projects. To connect with the team before the event, contact SPT.
