SPT presented its innovative technology solutions for the mining industry at Austmine 2023
On May 9th, 10th, and 11th, the Adelaide Convention Centre held Austmine, the country’s leading mining event.
With over 30 years and 600 corporate members, Austmine is the leading industry body for Australia’s mining equipment, technology and services (METS) sector.
This conference united industry leaders, experts, technicians, and researchers to explore mining’s advances and challenges. Austmine 2023’s discussion topics included mining digitization, sustainability, automation, safety, and productivity.
Planned were a variety of conference sessions, presentations, and exhibits featuring pioneering suppliers utilizing the latest industry trends. Additionally, the convention welcomed over 1,000 delegates from across the world, offering an excellent networking opportunity.
SPT featured an augmented reality experience and presented its new tools
SPT attended as an exhibitor with the aim of raising awareness of the company’s presence in Australia, and it was an excellent opportunity to engage with the Australian mining sector.
Our colleagues Eric Estrada, Global Sales and Marketing Director, and Sean McCormick, Country Manager Australia, were delighted to welcome and assist attendees and show them first-hand SPT’s innovative products and solutions, including the Polestar Aligner and GyroLogic™ EVO.
The Polestar Aligner is a state-of-the-art system that is manufactured to align mining drilling rigs. This tool is designed to provide reliable alignment at all latitudes with accurate real-time azimuth and inclination data.
The Gyrologic Evo is SPT’s latest gyro equipment and is built for borehole navigation in mining. It has a lightweight design, which translates into easier handling and transport allowing better mobility in tight places. This offers new potential for downhole navigation in previously inaccessible areas.
SPT Polestar Aligner and SPT Gyrologic Evo
In addition to the presentation of our new tools, we offered an innovative augmented reality experience in which our visitors, through our tablet, can get to know them in depth using this technology.
All they had to do was choose among those available in the system (currently Polestar Aligner, MagCruiser, Gyromaster and Gyroscout), and watch a short video specifying their technical characteristics, their main uses and how they work.
Austmine: Competition and surprises at the SPT stand
Throughout the event, we organised a competition in which everyone who passed by our stand could take part. The aim was to guess the angle of inclination of our GyroMaster™ direction finder.
They then gave us their contact details and the participant who guessed correctly or as close as possible to the correct figure won a fabulous premium coffee machine. The winner was announced on 11 May, the last day of the fair.
We thank everyone who visited us at Austmine and hope that we have helped you with our state-of-the-art drilling technology to improve the efficiency of your mining operations.
