Canada, February 2026. Stockholm Precision Tools (SPT) will exhibit at PDAC 2026 from March 1 to 4 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto. At Booth 441, the company will introduce its new Open API for SmartCloud™, designed to enable secure and structured interoperability between SPT drilling information and third-party mining software platforms.
As exploration programs continue to digitize, operational data must move seamlessly from the rig to planning environments without losing traceability or control. SPT’s Open API enables secure data exchange while preserving QA and QC standards, chain of custody, and structured validation within SmartCloud™. The objective is clear: to maintain consistency and reliability throughout the entire workflow.
30 years of precision, now enabling interoperable data ecosystems

Technical discussions around drilling instrumentation and digital workflows at the SPT booth.
For more than three decades, SPT has built its reputation on delivering dependable downhole survey tools used in drilling programs worldwide. Over time, that experience has shaped a broader conviction: technology should empower exploration teams with clarity and control, not restrict how they access or use their own information.
As digital transformation accelerates across the mining industry, interoperability is no longer simply a technical feature. It reflects a position. SPT believes that drilling data should not be confined within closed systems or rigid digital environments that limit how companies transform, migrate, or integrate their information. Instead, data should remain portable, transparent, and fully usable within the platforms each organization chooses.
The expansion of SmartCloud™ through an Open API represents this direction. It signals a move away from isolated digital silos toward a more open and flexible ecosystem where reliability and governance remain intact, while giving customers the freedom to shape their own workflows.
“Technology should create confidence and flexibility for our clients,” says Orlando Ramírez, CEO of Stockholm Precision Tools. “Our commitment to interoperability reflects our belief that data belongs to those who generate it.”
Technical session: Powering interoperable mining data with the SmartCloud™ API

SmartCloud™ Open API: secure and structured interoperability.
During the session, SPT will formally present its Open API architecture and explain how drilling trajectory and deviation data can be securely transferred to third-party platforms while maintaining documented validation processes and traceable workflows.
As part of this announcement, SPT will also present its first direct integration with CorePlan. In its initial phase, downhole survey data can be automatically transferred from SmartCloud™ into CorePlan’s planning environment. This integration demonstrates how connected systems can align drilling accuracy with operational efficiency within a secure and auditable framework.
The session will be available both in person and through live streaming for those unable to attend PDAC in Toronto. Registration details and online access information are available at https://sptab.com/pdac-spt-coreplan-event

In addition to its interoperability initiative, SPT will present important advancements across its instrumentation portfolio.
SmartCore™ – Core orientation made simple
SmartCore™: digital core orientation integrated directly into the inner tube head assembly.
At PDAC 2026, SPT will officially launch SmartCore™, a digital core orientation system integrated directly into the inner tube head assembly.
SmartCore™ replaces standard components without adding extra length or requiring external adapters, simplifying orientation at the rig. By reducing handling and eliminating unnecessary steps, it helps crews maintain drilling momentum while minimizing the potential for human error. As soon as the tool reaches surface, it automatically establishes a Bluetooth connection, allowing operators to begin the core marking process immediately without physically activating the orientator on each run.
Designed for continuous operation with minimal maintenance, SmartCore™ supports a more streamlined and reliable workflow in the field. Beyond orientation readings, the system synchronizes instrument parameters with SmartCloud™, creating a structured and traceable record for each run. Drillers can also log whether the core was successfully oriented and document any relevant field observations, strengthening transparency and supporting consistent QA and QC practices across the drilling process.
GyroMaster™ EVO – North-seeking precision for confident borehole positioning

GyroMaster™ EVO: optimized north-seeking precision for the field.
SPT will also demonstrate GyroMaster™ EVO, the latest generation of its solid-state north-seeking gyroscopic surveying system. As a north-seeking gyro, it determines True North by detecting the Earth’s natural rotation rather than relying on magnetic fields, ensuring stable and geographically accurate orientation even in environments affected by magnetic interference.
Built on the trusted performance of the recognized GyroMaster™ platform, the EVO generation has been optimized into a streamlined unibody design of approximately one meter in length. By reducing components and eliminating modular assembly, the system simplifies deployment, minimizes potential failure points, and improves operational efficiency in the field.
By anchoring borehole positioning to True North, GyroMaster™ EVO delivers consistent trajectory data in complex mineralized zones and in-rod survey conditions where magnetic tools cannot operate reliably.
SPT will also introduce the new Core Retriever™, which enables direct connection of the gyro to the overshot assembly. This configuration makes gyro while coring possible, allowing deviation surveys to be conducted each time core is retrieved during diamond drilling operations, providing more frequent trajectory updates without interrupting standard drilling workflows.
MagCruiser™ EVO: Long-Life Battery for Non-Magnetic Environments
MagCruiser™ EVO provides a lightweight and efficient solution for magnetic borehole surveying. Its straightforward deployment and dependable performance allow teams to maintain data quality while optimizing time and operational costs.
Equipped with a long-life, non-rechargeable battery, MagCruiser™ EVO is designed for extended operation without the need to interrupt drilling to recharge or replace power modules frequently. This autonomy supports continuous field activity and reduces unnecessary downtime, making it a practical and reliable option for streamlined exploration campaigns.
Networking Happy Hour at PDAC 2026

Technical exchange at the SPT booth during PDAC 2025.
Following the presentation of SPT’s new Open API for SmartCloud™ and the announcement of its integration with CorePlan, Stockholm Precision Tools will host a Networking Happy Hour on March 3 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Booth 441.
The event will provide an opportunity to continue the discussion in an informal setting and explore practical implementation scenarios around digital drilling workflows. Attendees will be able to engage directly with SPT’s technical and commercial teams to exchange perspectives on connected data environments and operational efficiency in exploration and mining projects.
