Stockholm Precision Tools (SPT) will participate in FEXMIN 2026, Chile’s leading mining exploration conference, taking place August 25–27 at Espacio Riesco Convention Center in Santiago under the theme “Exploring the Mines of Tomorrow.”
Throughout the three-day event, the SPT Chile team—José Donoso, Gastón Gómez, Matías Dorador, and Jorge Hernández—will welcome geologists, drilling engineers, and other mining professionals at Booths 22 and 23. Every exploration program generates information at different stages and through multiple operations, including rig alignment, drill hole trajectory surveys, core orientation, and structural logging. When these records are stored separately or transferred manually, it becomes more difficult to correlate them, verify their origin, and maintain a consistent view of the project.
At FEXMIN 2026, SPT will present an integrated workflow in which field instruments capture exploration data while SmartCloud™ acts as the central platform that organizes and connects information generated throughout the exploration process. The platform links each dataset to its corresponding drill hole, maintains a verifiable history, and supports QA/QC procedures before information is used for geological interpretation or shared with external systems.

StructMaster™: Digital Structural Logging with Automatic Alpha, Beta, and Gamma Calculations
One of the featured solutions at FEXMIN will be StructMaster™, SPT’s digital structural logging platform for oriented drill core.
Using a photograph of the core as its starting point, StructMaster™ automatically calculates alpha, beta, and gamma angles through an image-based workflow. Every measurement remains linked to its corresponding photograph, providing visual verification that simplifies data review, improves logging consistency, and helps validate structural information before it is used for geological analysis and modeling.
Structural logging records can be synchronized directly with SmartCloud™, where they are associated with the corresponding drill hole and become part of the project’s digital history. As a result, structural logging is no longer an isolated process but an integrated component of the broader exploration dataset, connected with directional surveying and core orientation information.

GyroMaster™ Evo with CoreRetriever™: Directional Surveys During Core Retrieval
SPT will also showcase GyroMaster™ Evo together with CoreRetriever™, a solution designed to integrate directional surveying into the normal core recovery cycle.
Based on the gyro while coring concept, the system enables a directional survey to be performed every time the core barrel is retrieved. CoreRetriever™ incorporates GyroMaster™ Evo directly into the assembly used during core recovery, eliminating the need for a separate survey run dedicated exclusively to measuring drill hole deviation.
This approach provides directional data more frequently, reduces instrument handling, and helps maintain a smoother drilling workflow. Survey results can then be transferred to SmartCloud™ for review, validation, and project tracking.
Powered by north-seeking gyroscopic technology, GyroMaster™ Evo delivers highly accurate measurements even in environments where magnetic interference limits the performance of conventional surveying methods.

SmartCore™: Digital Core Orientation with Fewer Surface Operations
Visitors will also have the opportunity to experience SmartCore™, SPT’s next-generation digital core orientation system.
The instrument is designed to be installed directly in the inner tube head assembly, eliminating the need for additional extension systems and reducing the number of components handled during drilling operations.
Once the core barrel reaches the surface, SmartCore™ automatically detects that it has exited the hole and establishes communication with the handheld device to download the recorded data. This eliminates the need to magnetically activate the instrument after every core run, making core orientation and marking faster and more efficient.
The collected information can then be synchronized with SmartCloud™, where it is linked to the corresponding drill hole and becomes immediately available for review, project tracking, and quality control.
